Some shaft couplings are flexible, while others are rigid. Flexible couplings can accommodate up to two degrees of misalignment. Some couplings can also be used in a single or multiple-shaft application.
The first type of shaft coupling is a rigid coupling, which consists of two parts that fit together tightly around the shafts.
